New Membership Information and New Member Application
The Lancaster Liederkranz welcomes men and women of goodwill, who have attained the age of twenty-one years, and who wish to belong to a club that is a dynamic family organization dedicated to perpetuating and amplifying the founders' original purpose of promoting German culture through song, dance, language, art, and international exchange.
We welcome your application for membership if you can subscribe to Article 1 Section 1 of the Lancaster Liederkranz Constitution, which reads:
In the year 1880, on the fourth day of July, in the city of Lancaster, a group of men of German origin met and organized a singing society to be henceforth known as “The Liederkranz”. The object of this organization was, to meet fraternally, sing and preserve native songs and music, as well as perpetuate the social customs of the Fatherland.
We ask that applicants and club members familiarize themselves with our House Rules and Constitution & By-Laws:
Please stop by the Club to learn more about us. All guests should be accompanied by a member and be signed in the lobby guest book. If you arrive unaccompanied, please make your guest status known to the door tender and bartender on duty. We allow 3 (three) guest visits, after which guests are expected to apply for membership. Please note: Non members may not purchase alcoholic beverages.
You may pick up a Membership Application at the Club or click on the PDF version here to be completed and mailed to the club. Appropriate fees, ($50 Initiation fee per application and $45 per person dues fee) sponsorship, and orientation are required. The process generally takes 2 to 3 months, depending on receipt of application.
New Member Process: - Applicants will receive a letter of instruction on the induction process which includes mandatory attendance at our Orientation Class and attendance at the applicant's assigned monthly Membership Meeting for voting. - Orientation is held the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month beginning at 7:00 p.m., (except when the date falls on a holiday.) Class must be attended prior to induction. - A form will be sent with instruction letter. Bring this form to Orientation.
NOTE: Annual dues are not pro-rated. We require all memberships be renewed by December 31. We permit a two-month grace period until end of February, after which we apply a late fee of $35 per person. It is the member's responsibility to renew each year. We do not send invoices or reminders. Beginning in November, look for renewal forms and information on our website, in emails, and at the Clubhouse. Beginning in June and through the end of the calendar year, we give new members vouchers to help offset their upcoming membership renewal fee.

Beginning November 1 - Membership Renewal
2025 Membership Renewals are due by December 31, 2024. A grace period will be extended until end of February 2025.
Beginning March 2025, non renewed will be removed from active membership status and will be required to pay a $35/per person reactivation fee. Reactivation must be made before the end of calendar year 2025. Afterwards the membership process with application, dues, sponsor, orientation, and vote will be required.Don't let this happen to you! Please renew early. Note: Renewal is for current members. If you are not currently a member, new member info and an application are available to the left.
Renewals by Dec 31, 2024 will receive a complimentary beverage chip. If you renew by mail or online, stop in by Dec 31 to pick up your chip. Beverage chips are not issued for renewals made in Jan or Feb 2025.

* Note: Without stamped return envelope or $1 online mail option, you will have to stop in the Club to pick up your sticker. Allow a couple weeks for the office to process orders before stopping in.
