Men singing traditional, fun songs can be found in the Gasthaus, Rathskeller, and at fests throughout Germany. They can also be found at the Liederkranz! That's the Hobby Chor. An all-male chorus formed in 1978. They work to preserve German culture, music and language, and to foster a fun-loving spirit. All men are welcome. If you think you can't sing, don't worry, we'll teach you. And you're guaranteed to have a good time!
UPDATE: Hobby Chor Golf Outing The Golf Outing Committee voted overwhelmingly to suspend the 2020 Golf Outing scheduled Friday, August 21, 2020 at Four Seasons in Landisville.
This decision was based on a number of variables related to the uncertainties surrounding Covid-19 including an anticipated significant drop off in sponsor donations, not knowing what restrictions might be in place in August at the golf course, serving our traditional steak dinner, etc. We look forward to next year's event which is planned for Friday August 20.
Stefan Klosowski's cousin, Hans-Georg of Annaberg-Buchholz Germany near the Czech border, sent the video link below of the local fire company playing a trumpet song of good luck and happiness, “Glueck auf Glueck auf,” on ladder truck in the marketplace. They have been playing every Sunday during the Coronavirus crisis to bring hope and good health wishes. The firemen are making shopping trips for the elderly and the women are making face masks for local hospitals.
