Cultural Tradition Every culture has its traditional attire, cuisine, and music. After immigrating to new lands, Germans established an essential part of their musical tradition by forming German singing societies. Lancaster's local immigrants formed their singing society in the city with the Lancaster Liederkranz (which translates to wreath of songs.)
Keep our German tradition and heritage alive...Come sing with us!
It is not necessary to read music or speak German to join us, just have the willingness to make good music with German folk songs and other choral arrangements, all while making lasting friendships!
Rehearsals
Wednesday evenings at 7:00 in the Liederkranz Ballroom (September through May). All men or women interested in singing are cordially invited. Contact our Chorus President, Linda Husler, to learn more about joining the Liederkranz Chorus. She would love to hear from you!
On June 18, 2022, the Liederkranz Chorus hosted the Sängerfest through the tremendous efforts and dedication of its leadership, members and volunteers. This video showcases the talents of individual choirs as they perform their own selections as well as joining together at the end of the concert with five mass choir pieces.
