Cultural Tradition Every culture has its traditional attire, cuisine, and music. After immigrating to new lands, Germans established an essential part of their musical tradition by forming German singing societies. Lancaster's local immigrants formed their singing society in the city with the Lancaster Liederkranz (which translates to wreath of songs.)
