Mission
In the year 1880, on the fourth day of July, in the city of Lancaster, a group of men of German origin met and organized a Singing Society to be henceforth known as the LIEDERKRANZ. The object of this organization was to meet fraternally, sing and preserve native songs and music as well as perpetuate social customs of the Homeland.
In the year 1909, the Lancaster Mänerchor and the Arbeiter Mänerchor consolidated with the LIEDERKRANZ in order to promote the cultivation and improvement of the German chorus as well as sociability. These principles remain valid.
We continue today as a dynamic family organization dedicated to perpetuating and amplifying our founders' original purpose through song, dance, language and art education and international cultural exchange.
